Launched Sunday 8th August, our church has begun a new series: 'Behold the Man'. It will be a focused study on the life and ministry of Christ, with the same theme being run across all our services. We’ll also be sharing in communion each service during the month of August, a reflective ‘Selah’ moment for all of us.

Fri 10thRelationship Revolution: An Evening with Dr Robi (General)
Friday 10th September we're hosting an evening with Dr Robi Sonderegger, renown Clinical Psychologist and keynote presenter.

RELATIONSHIP REVOLUTION:

Our throw away culture says that if it’s passed its use by date, is getting old and worn, or is defective in some way, cash it in and get an upgraded model. Building, protecting, and even saving a relationship in this climate can therefore be difficult. What may start out as a compatible connection runs the risk of being weathered and worn down by the wind and the waves of daily living. Without a relationship engine or anchor, we get tossed about by the storm. So how do we build a solid and secure, long term sustainable relationship that’s full of vibrancy? As in the parable of building your house on the rock as opposed to the sand, it starts with foundations. If you are just starting out on a relationship… if you have a healthy relationship that you would like to protect… if you want to renovate your relationship… or if you are barely holding on to your relationship, this presentation outlays the framework for a relationship revolution.

Sun 12th7 Days of Prayer (General)
We're launching 7 Days of Prayer Sunday 12th September and will continue until this Saturday 18th September.
Each day has a focus. Each day has a time set aside when you can join with us in prayer.
Hope you can be part of it!

Sunday 12th
AM & PM Services
Effective prayer is FAITH filled prayer. James teaches us that faithless prayers won’t be answered. (Jas 1:6-7) However Jesus teaches, ‘You can pray for anything, and if you have faith, you will receive it.’ (Mat 21:22) Give your prayer wings by praying in faith!

Monday 13th
7am-8am and 6pm-7pm
Our authority in prayer is the NAME of JESUS. His Name is the highest authority and power in the entire universe. His Name is higher than anything else that can be named. That means ALL things are subject to His Name. Jesus said, ‘Yes, ask me for anything in my name and I will do it!’ (Jn 14:14)

Tuesday 14th
7am-8am and 6pm-7pm
Our confidence in prayer is the WORD of GOD. The bible is filled with amazing promises from God that have application to our daily life and circumstance. Find a relevant promise and begin to believe God for it. ‘Take… the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. And pray in the Spirit at all times…’ (Eph 6:17-18)

Wednesday 15th
7am-8am and 6pm-7pm
One source of power in prayer is the HOLY SPIRIT. The Holy Spirit wants to help us in prayer. ‘And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all God’s people.’ (Eph 6:18) Release that mighty river within you in prayer and follow the Spirit’s leading.

Thursday 16th
7am-8am and 6pm-7pm
Jesus taught it is imperative to pray with a FREE heart. Prayer from our heart must be unhindered from all grudges, resentments, and offences. ‘But when you are praying, first forgive anyone you are holding a grudge against, so that your Father in heaven will forgive your sins, too.’ (Mk 11:25) Take a moment to fully and freely forgive… anyone and anything.

Friday 17th
7am-8am and 6pm-7pm
It’s only right to pray with THANKSGIVING. ‘Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, WITH THANKSGIVING, present your requests to God.’ (Phil 4:6) God has already done so much for our lives and will continue to do so. Let’s be a thankful people!

Saturday 18th
7am - wherever you are.
There is great power in PRAISE. ‘For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.’ (Mat 6:13) And so the ‘Lord’s Prayer’ concludes with a great anthem of praise to the KING of KINGS and LORD of LORD’S. Go ahead and lift up your voice in praise!

Prayer Topics
Let’s believe for continual breakthrough in the following areas:

• Salvation of souls – people being added to the Kingdom!

• Miracles and the supernatural – people being healed and freed!

• Ps Wayne and Lyn and the senior leadership of our church!

• City Care and its ministries!

• Effective media ministry from City Church!

Sun 12thNew Undie Sundy (General)
There is an epidemic sweeping our city, our suburbs, our state. An epidemic that is a travesty for women, children and the family unit.
Recently it was bought to our attention that Domestic Violence rates are at an all time high, over 250 women are displaced each month in Queensland due to domestic violence. All of these women have children.
These brave ladies are placed into temporary and long term safe houses all over our state. Sadly they leave their homes with nothing but the clothes on their back.

The leadership of City Church have been in contact with 'Women's Helpline' to find out what we can do as a church and as compassionate women to help these ladies.
Without meaning to sound crass 'NEW UNDERWEAR' is by far their greatest practical need. And lets face it every woman has the right to clean underwear.
Over the last 3 weeks of September we will be celebrating NEW UNDIE SUNDY and we're asking all ladies of City Church to purchase new underwear in their own size and/or in their childrens sizes and bring them to church. Collection Baskets will be at all city church services.
Our Goal is to provide 1000 new pairs of underpants for women of Qld, please 'GET BEHIND IT'.

Some Domestic Violence Stats
1 in 3 women in Australia will experience domestic violence throughout their lives
4,000 calls per month made to Womensline Qld per month
1,500 of these calls are from the greater Brisbane area
270 women and 450 children in Qld are referred to refuges and emergency accomodation per month
Sun 12thKingdom Builders Family Barbecue (Kingdom Builders)
Our Kingdom Builders are gathering for a Family Barbecue on Sunday 12th September following the morning services.
